Tickets are on sale now for the fabulous Woodford Folk Festival, one of Australia’s most iconic annual events returning for its 28th year – from 27 December 2013 to 1 January 2014.
This ‘festival of festivals’ which is held in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland, is Australia’s largest gathering of artists and musicians and explores the full breadth and depth of cultural, artistic, social and food diversity the country has to offer.
The programme ranges from concerts featuring national and indigenous Australian and international contemporary artists, dance, cabaret, circus, comedy, workshops, debate, and street theatre to films, forums, visual arts, an entire children’s festival and many special presentations including a spectacular fire event on New Year’s Day.
Held on a 500-acre environmental parkland, on Jinibara Country, just over one hour’s drive north of Brisbane, at the beautifully created “Woodfordia” village site, the hidden valley is transformed into a magical village Bazaar with 28 performance venues (most are indoor) that range in size from intimate cafés to a large outdoor 25,000 seat amphitheatre plus stalls, bars, street theatre and parades. Tree-filled grounds, butterfly walks, ponds and wildlife complete the picturesque site.
Woodford Folk Festival promises something for everyone and is a fun, safe and unforgettable experience for families.
