Discover Australia's family-friendly holiday parks
Going hand in hand with road trips, holiday parks are becoming even more popular than usual. With concerns over the economy, they are a more affordable option than, say, a five-star resort. And with everything from gigantic water parks to supervised kids’ clubs, it’s fair to say the kids are having the time of their lives.
Today’s holiday parks are evolving to attract the market, offering a range of kid-friendly features like water parks, pump tracks for bikes and scooters and jumping cushions. Plus, they’re easily accessible across the country, and have everything from camping under the stars to resort-style cabins and glamping accommodation.
Australia's holiday parks are made for families
Catering for every budget and taste, accommodation options from canvas to cabin, stunning locations, friendly community atmospheres and loads of activities to keep both kids and parents entertained, it’s no wonder that holiday parks are enjoying a massive resurgence with Aussie families.
These days a good holiday park is so much more than somewhere to sleep with many offering resort or lagoon pools (often with water slides and a toddler pool), giant jumping pillows, outdoor movie screens, mini-golf, tennis courts, soft-play and games rooms and even autism sensory rooms.
A tent site is your cheapest option, or you can park your own caravan or motorhome. At the premium end, take your pick of cabins or villas that come in a wide range of sizes, styles and costs, or for something different, go glamping in luxury safari tents.
Whether you’re going for the canvas, caravan or cabin option, you’ll have access to a raft of fantastic facilities including camp kitchens and communal free barbecues. Catering facilities do vary from park to park and while most offer a kiosk to purchase staples, some even offer cafes and restaurants for hassle-free dining.
