Small children understand the magic of Christmas better than anyone, so take your little ones along to see Babies Proms: The Little Drummer Boy, live on stage at the Sydney Opera House from 29 November – 21 December.
The Babies Proms Troupe of Travelling Players will teach children carols that have been passed down through generations including; Ding Dong Merrily On High, Away In A Manger and We Three Kings of Orient Are. The children play an important role in the music-making of each show and young audience members will be invited to play their own mini drum for the re-enactment of the classic Christmas song The Little Drummer Boy.
Children will be introduced to musical instruments including piano, accordion, flute, violin, oboe, bassoon, percussion and more… and the kids will get close to the instruments when the musicians mingle among the crowd at the end of the performance.
Offering young children the chance to interact with instruments and musicians in a relaxed setting, The Little Drummer Boy is a unique introduction to Christmas carols for children aged two to five years.
Babies Proms: The Little Drummer Boy is part of the Sydney Opera House Kids at the House program, a year-round series of performances and creative experiences for young people.
Tickets start at $25.
