I‘d never managed to catch a Circus Oz performance, so I was delighted to go along to the return season of But Wait…There’s More, which has received standing ovations across North America, Canada and Australia.
My advice? Don’t miss this smash hit! Visit the Big Top in the Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park and be prepared for a night of laughs, gasps and astonishing feats of acrobatic athleticism.
The location is perfect for families, with easy parking just a couple of minutes walk from the Big Top and plenty of ‘Parents with prams’ parking spaces conveniently located near the exit on the ground floor.
Oh, and there’s a pram parking station inside the Big Top, making it even easier to get kids big and small to the performance. There was a six-month old baby with her parents in the row behind us and she was delighted with the sound, lights and activity.
And what a performance! The first hour passed in a blur of laughter and admiration, as the team entertained, amazed and exceeded all expectations. In the performance I attended, all the kids were invited on stage – baby included! – and they had a ball being part of the action.
There’s a 20-minute interval before the high-octane second half begins and while I didn’t think they could possibly top the antics of the first part of the show, they did!
The world-famous Circus Oz ensemble is at the top of its game. They call themselves a ‘creative bunch of fabulous weirdos’ … and the troupe comprises jugglers, unicyclers, flying trapeze artists, hula hoopers and acrobats– they delight and entertain in a marvellous celebration of diversity.
But Wait…There’s More offers exuberant circus performances with wonderful original live music. This really is two hours of pure entertainment for all ages!
My verdict? This is the perfect holiday treat for the whole family. Book now – the show closes on 24 January 2016.
