Nannies at Plantation Island Resort
Fiji is famous for its nannies, who just adore kids. Plantation Island Resort offers child minding services for just FJD$15 per child per hour (around AU$10), with a minimum three consecutive hours required per booking and a maximum of two children per babysitter. If the service extends over normal meal hours, then a meal is also to be provided for the babysitter.
There is also a 24-hour service for FJD$150 (AU$100), plus accommodation and meals for the nanny. It’s best to request two inter-connecting Studio Garden Bures when taking advantage of this offering so the adults can sleep in one bure and the children can sleep with the nanny in the other.
Perks for parents (and grandparents!)
With kids occupied at the supervised kids’ club or safe with a nanny, what’s on the agenda for grown-ups at Plantation Island Resort? Besides relaxing by the pool, start with a round at the resort’s own 9-hole golf course. You can also pick up equipment free of charge and engage in some friendly competition at the tennis, volleyball, handball and basketball courts or rugby field.
The resort is home to award-winning Totoka Hair & Beauty Salon and has just opened a new wellness retreat. Named Senibua Spa, the luxe facility boasts six tranquil treatment rooms using products by Pure Fiji and Nama Fiji
